Add-on cooling is a type of cooling system that can be integrated with an existing gas ducted heater. It typically involves attaching a refrigerated cooling unit to the heating system, allowing it to distribute cool air through the same ducts and vents used for heating. This integrated approach provides both heating and cooling capabilities using a single system, offering convenience and flexibility for temperature control throughout the home.

How Do They Work?
The cooling unit is integrated into the ductwork of the gas heater. Like a reverse cycle system, it removes hot air from the room for cooling. This air passes over coils filled with refrigerant, which absorbs the heat and converts it into a gas. The air is then blown over the coils and returned to the room at the desired temperature. Using the same ducts and vents as the heating system, the cooled air is distributed throughout the home for effective cooling.
